James Grose
James is fascinated by the idea of an Australian architectural vernacular. How our heritage: Aboriginal, colonial and migrant, has shaped a design language that’s unique and identifiable. He experiments with this conceptually and aesthetically, producing buildings that are articulate, iconic and often well loved. Over the course of his locally and internationally celebrated career, James has explored organic forms and design solutions with zero or minimal impact on site and surrounds. He works across a wide range of sizes, scale and clientele. Renowned for residential and workplace design in particular, James’ modesty belies an international profile as architect, former BVN CEO and design thinker par excellence.
